Robert attended Sewanee: University of the South for his undergraduate degree. He obtained a Bachelor of Arts in 2010 majoring in United States history, with a minor in political science. A world traveler, he participated as a student ambassador to Toluca, Mexico and Nagaoka, Japan, through Fort Worth Sister Cities; studied modern Chinese economics and Indian history while traveling through those countries in 2007; taught English and soccer in Nanyuki, Kenya, in the summer of 2008; and immersed himself in courses in Italian culture and foods, the Italian countryside and Tuscan wine appreciation at the University of the Arts in Florence, Italy in 2009. Robert studied at the Charleston School of Law, earning his JD in 2013. He has completed the Cowtown and Charleston Marathons.
